The LIFE programme

 LIFE
A financial instrument for the Environment introduced in 1992, is one of the peak elements in the environ-mental policy of the European Commission.

 Life Environment
This is the action which aims at applying the environmental policy and the European Community laws inside the countries of the European Union. This approach promotes the exhibition and the development of new technolo-gies aimed at protecting and safeguarding the environment.

 Life Nature
This is the action which aims at preserving all natural habitats, fauna and wild flora interesting for the European Union.

 Life Third Countries
This is the action which aims at providing Third Countries with assistance in order to promote a sustainable development.
